LCD monitors are much thinner than CRT monitors

Although a CRT can have display issues there is no such thing as a dead pixel on a CRT monitor.

LCD monitors can encounter dead pixels, which causes small black or other colored dots in the display.

A CRT monitor are heavy than LCD monitor

LCD monitors can be pretty light, weighing as little as 8 to 10 pounds.

The price of most CRT monitors is very cheap.

LCD monitors are a newer technology and have mo

re demand so will be more expensive than a CRT.

The frame around the glass screen of the monitor causes the viewable area of the screen to be smaller than an LCD.

The frame around the glass screen of the monitor causes the viewable area of the screen to be smaller than an LCD.

Because of the older technology most CRT monitors will not have as good as quality as picture as most LCD displays.

Depending on the quality of the LCD monitor, the picture quality can be quite superb and amazing, almost like looking out a window.

A 17" CRT monitor will use as much as 80 watts, depending on the age.

LCD monitors are very energy efficient. A 19" LCD monitor only uses about 17 to 31 watts on average

17.   Define form factor. Explain system case form factor.

à Form factor is a hardware design aspect that defines and prescribes the size, shape, and other physical specifications of components

, particularly in electronics. System case form factor are described below:

·         Full Tower: Full tower are generally big with a height that is about more than 30 inches. The number of internal drive bays inside these cases can be between 6 and 10. This case is usually used for high powered servers. It also supports the different types of motherboard, making it very expensive.

·         Mid Tower: Mid tower cases are most widely used computer cases. Unlike a full tower case, a mid-tower case will work in a smaller space as these cases are about 18 to 24 inches high. These case usually contain 2 to 4 internal drive bays and a similar number of external bays. These cases also have cable management options

·         Mini Tower: Since more people want their pc case to be portable but at the same time they don’t want to sacrifice their expansion capability, the mini tower was created. Mini tower cases normally stand at a height of 12 to 18 inches. These cases usually have up or 2 or sometimes 3 internal drive bays. Expandability is the problem with these cases.

18.   What is system bus? Explain its types.

àSystem bus the pathway composed of cables and connectors used to carry the data from one part of a computer to another. Types of system buses:

·         Address Bus: Carries the addresses of data (but not the data) between the processor and memory

·         Data Bus: Carries data between the processor, the memory unit and the input/output devices

·         Control Bus: Carries control signals/commands from the CPU (and status signals from other devices) in order to control and coordinate all the activities within the computer
